I am a Californian, and I voted in this election. And I am proud to say that I voted against Proposition 8. And I am so saddened by the fact that Californian's have a passed a law to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation. It is a disgrace to our society that we are now legalizing discrimination.
Everyone in this country is guaranteed the freedom to practice any religion they choose. Why can you not let other people practice what they choose?
Marriage has a legal significance as the spouse can make life & death decisions for their spouse. By denying gays & lesbians the the right to marry, you are denying them to have these rights. I am ashamed of anyone who recommends denying someones rights. Especially women and African-Americans who both have had to fight for their rights.
If you believe in Christ then you don't have the right to judge (Matthew 7:1), so please stop judging homosexuals. It is not your job to judge them and deny them their legal rights, instead work on improving yourself (Matthew 7:3)

Amen, brother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteI love you Matt! :) I wish I was even HALF as articulate as you are. Thank you for speaking when I can't find the words past a few sputters.
