So, I talked to Mom today. I finally got through. It was so great to talk to her and hear her voice. I guess it has been almost a year since I have talked to her. I think she is having a great time over there, doing her work and learning a lot about herself. She sounds really happy, which makes me happy. She was thinking that I wanted to talk to her because I was pregnant (which I'm not) so I think she was doubly disappointed when what I had to tell her was that I wasn't going to be able to make it to London in October. I'm really bummed out about it, and I didn't want to just email her. I know she's disappointed, but I'm not sure which one she's more disappointed about-that I'm not pregnant, or that I'm not going to go visit her. :)
I just took another test today, on Virginia History. I'm glad I'm in Virginia, because even though I need to take this state's history classes to get certified to teach, Virginia history is so entrenched with US history that they go together nicely. Also, I have taken African-American history (2 semesters) and that history also goes hand in hand with VA history. I also took a VA government and politics class, and learned a lot about the history that way. I think I'm learning a lot, maybe not specifics, but generally how history unfolds and past mistakes our nation has made (and the state of VA). It is funny, because I feel like I know a lot about the history of Idaho, how the different counties came to be, at least from a SE Idahoans perspective. I also know pretty much where all the counties in Idaho are, and what the general layout is. I know that VA has so many more people than ID, and more counties, but there are people in my class that have lived here their whole lives and don't know where a county is that is within 90 miles of them! If it isn't in Hampton Roads, it isn't important to them. (Hampton Roads is the generally agreed upon name for the area I live in. It includes Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk.) It just seems so close minded. Everyone in the state is affected by everyone else. You should have a general idea of where at least the counties are in the state! Anyways, that's my beef for the day. I am absent a husband tonight, he's on duty. So I need to get the house cleaned up. It is so much easier when he's not here. When he's here, I just want to spend time with him, not clean up. I'm sure you all know what I mean.
Oh, before I forget. I am just curious. Peggy and I were talking about blood type. Could each of my siblings post a comment, or send me an email, and let me know what your blood type is? Thanks. If you don't have an account, just post under "anonymous" and sign your name. Thanks guys. Love you. Pam
Pam, I do read al of your blogs, it's just that at some times, like right now, I have a sleeping infant in one arm, which makes it hard to type! Anyways, my blood type is A+, why did you want to know. And are you sure you are not pregnant? Just kidding!!!
ReplyDeleteBeth, I'm just curious. And can't you type with one hand? I thought everyone could do that :) Just kidding. Thanks for letting me know your blood type. I hope everyone else does too :)
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I'm not pregnant. I'm sure. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Pam! Glad you got through to Mom. =) as for blood type... well, I *think* I'm AB+ but not 100% sure... how do I *get* my blood type? You'd think with all my surgeries, I'd know, huh? lol
ReplyDeletePam,as you know, I'm A+, but I thought we couldn't be AB, so Marie, maybe check again. Not sure where to go, maybe some old records somewhere. Good luck.
ReplyDeletePeggy
Yeah, if Marie is AB+, well, that is a problem. In fact, I'm pretty sure that dad's blood type was O+, which pretty much rules out any B or AB blood types from the kids.... hmm...yeah maybe see if you can find some medical records, ummm....I know in biology class in high school we pricked our fingers and put drops on this cool paper thing, then rubbed it onto a card and found our our blood type there. Don't know if you'd even want to do that or if it is possible to by home blood type test kits.... *shrug*
ReplyDeleteBTW, Kate told me tonight that she is A+. If anyone was curious.
I know this is really late, but I found out my blood type (and just found this blog) But I am A+, which means Mom (Gwen... erm... Marie) would probably be so also. Especially with several family members being so.
